Jimmy, I was rubbing all over with 285's and my old Billies set to 2.5. You COULD make it work but you'll need to do a good amount of trimming the splash guards as well as possibly chopping the cab mount. I still rub my cab mount when I'm flexed even with 265's.

But the spacer is also needed to prevent rubbing on the wheel knuckle, unless you get new wheels with the appropriate backspacing.

I take it you have aftermarket UCA's? At the 2.5 setting and with 265/70-17 tires, my alignment setting is at the max. Any larger tires and I will need new UCA's.

Not necessarily. I ran on a 2.5" lift with 33" tires with stock UCA's for a few months, and it aligned no problem. I eventually upgraded to All Pro uniballs to complete my mid-travel.

On 17-inch wheels? That's about 1.5 inch greater diameter than mine. Was the tech guy joshing me? Maybe your 2.5 lift was a little lower due to oldem springs or front-end weight? Point is, it's something to keep in mind.
