I have a 2012 Prerunner double cab with the TRD package and when I bought the truck it came with the 17" wheels and tires that were off a Sport model truck. I want to go back to stock 16" wheel size and got some TRD wheels in the 16x7.5 rim size. I want to put 265/75/16 on them but a few tire shops have told that they will rub and have said I have to put 265/70/16 tire, which for whatever reason cost more money and there are less options available than the 265/75/16 size. Does anyone have 265/75/16 size tires on a stock TRD prerunner and have any issues with them or am I better off getting the 265/70/16 size and not running into any problems. Thanks for any input....

Welcome to TW. The stock 16's are 7" wide, not 7.5". You can fit 265/75/16 with no issues.

I have 265/75-16 BF Goodrich All-Terrains mounted on the TRD Beadlock wheels, which are 7.5" wide. I'm having zero issues with this setup. Once in a blue moon I will rub on the front mudflap, but 99% of the time I've had zero.

Tire shops are sometimes reluctant to run tires outside of the stock tire just out of principle. When I had my old Honda Accord I upgraded from 15" wheels to 17" wheels. Their wheel/tire packages were set up using Honda Civic tire sizing (205/40-17) and I wanted to run a larger tire (215/45-17) and I had to spend a lot of time convincing them that this was the size I wanted and it would work correctly on my car.

Backspacing has a lot to do with whether or not wheels will fit, but if you're looking for a stock TRD wheel (especially the beadlocks that came stock on the TX model), the 265/75-16 will be no issue.
