I dont know if I'm the only one who notices these things but tonight during a Toyota commercial, I realized something. You never see a commercial highlighting the Tacoma or 4Runner. At least not in Kentucky. Maybe I have too much time on my hands......:der:

toyota don't need to advertise the tacoma or 4-runner. they speak for themselves

I agree. I have seen a few Tundra commercials that are kind of ridiculous, but never Tacoma commercials. At least they don't show a passenger jet with a screwed up landing gear landing in the bed. :D

From a marketing standpoint it doesn't really make sense to spend their advertising dollars on the Tacoma when it can be spent on cars like the Camry that compete in a highly competitive segment. The only viable option to the Tacoma is the Frontier and the Tacoma already outsells that by enough. Full size trucks are a very competitive market so it makes sense they would have TV time for the Tundra over the Tacoma.

It cracks me up when I see any 4WD truck or Jeep commercial and they show the vehicle appearing to be going 40 or 50 mph offroad when anybody that has ever really gone four-wheeling over the years knows you never drive that fast. I guess the commercials are for people that don't know any better [Darwin Award candidates] to get them to buy.

They advertised the Tacoma pretty regularly when the economy was doing well and people were buying larger trucks and SUVs.
When things started turning, people who actually needed trucks and SUVs continued to buy them, but downsized to the Tacoma and 4-Runner... money spent on those trucks reduced in most markets, and was moved to support the Tundra.

They still run one here with the annoying "Push the limits" head-banger music. Toyota can replace that one anytime they want...
