Does anyone know if the TRD package was offered in the 2.7 liter two door 2009 model? Looking at one from a VW dealer and it is badged as a TRD but it appears to be a base model. Cant find out much from the Toyota site.
I'm a bit suspicious that someone just badged the truck...what exactly does the TRD options include.. this truck appears to just be a base model 2 wd..now power windows, no cruise, 15" steel wheels ...price and miles are good just don't want to be taken advantage of.. attached a picture...thanks for any help...[IMG]

All TRD Tacoma's from 2005+ are Access Cab V6 or Double Cab V6. There is no reg cab TRD, or access cab 2.7 TRD.

The truck in the pic looks like a 5 lug base model, and it also appears that the bed is off. Judging by the gaps between bed and cab and the angle the bed sits. The bed appears to be higher in the cab portion than the rear bumper area, this makes me question this truck.

Could just be distortion from the camera, but ya... it doesn't look right.
No 5-lug TRD. If it's at a dealer, the vehicle is being misrepresented.
It probably had a body lift on it.

An '09 with 32k, two owners, and under 12k?

That's not right. It's been a problem child but they haven't used dealerships for the repairs (which is why Carfax shows clean). No way it's been through 2 owners without it having problems.

When I bought mine, it was an '08, 55k, one owner, $14.5k. PO had the floor mat recall done in April in San Diego and I bought it in December in the LA area.
PO put about 4000 miles on it before trading it in.

Yeah something definitely looks wrong with the truck. Either the truck's been in some wrecks and been pieced together like Frankenstein or it's just had a lot of mods done to it which always increases risk in buying a used truck cause who knows how professionally the mods were done (probably why the bed looks odd).

    this and that...
just from a quick glance. its 2.7, bedside decals too high, and no fender flares. there are nicely done single cab tacomas, but this is not one of them lol.

just to be clear, this is not a 6-lug truck either. it was designed more as an in-town get around than anything else. that trd sticker and black wheels assimilate it to getting hammered on out on the trail, which may very well be what the young-minded previous owner tried to do.

maybe he sold it after figuring out that spray-paint and decals dont quite do the trick. . . . be careful with that one.

look for a truck that is the same as it left the showroom. one that is bone stock, no spray-paint
