Primer

Just got a Fold a Cover. Reviewing the instructions and I need some primer for two holes I have to drill on the interior of the tail gate. I don't have a problem with drilling holes, but I've never had to prime a surface on a vehicle. Suppose I could find it at an auto parts store, but are there some favorites that could be recommended, and application methods? Thanks. BTW, when ever I get the install done I'll posts some pics.

 

I would think there would be some sort of spray on primer at any auto parts store. Or I would think you could just use some touch up paint or Rust-o-leum.

 

The primer is just to seal sheet metal so it does not rust. You can use just about anything. Primer will work great, just make sure that you cover the area around it so you dont over spray everywhere. Touch up paint would be better because it is thicker, but might not stick as well to bare metal.
I would go with the touch up paint anyway, you can apply it with a brush. No one will see it so any colour will do.
