Hey guys, I've got a terrible brake pedal. My drums are adjusted well and I bled the heck out of the system. There is one scenario when I do have a nice solid pedal, however, if I'm driving along and I push the brakes then give them a very quick pump. I don't think the mc is bad because when I do the quick pump the brakes are amazing. I'm not forced to keep pumping them. In my research I've read that air can get trapped in the abs pump. Can any techs confirm this.

    Thanks

Had kinda the same issue, turned out to be a bad wheel bearing on the front pass side. Mind you this is after they replace the master controller, thinking that was the problem, which was not.

It's hard to follow what you've said....

Why did you bleed the brakes in the first place?

You never really explained when you get a soft pedal? What's it doing?

How much different is it from STOCK - or prior to the reason why you bled the brakes in the first place?

    this.... ^^^^

No idea why anyone is bleeding the system unless they open it up. I ripped out a cylinder by accident and had the system open for days. Bled it good and my brakes are A-OK in my Sport.

Supposedly if you get air in the system of an offroad you need to take it to Toyota to have it fixed, but I'm sure thats Bullpoop.

Do you know how a bad wheel bearing would affect the brakes ? I ask because I have what looks like a bad pass side front wheel bearing and now my brake pedal is soft as s&^t , how can these be related ?

A slightly warped rotor or bad wheel bearing will allow the rotor to push the brake pads back into the caliper further than normal. So when you apply the brakes they have to travel further before contacting the rotor. The first time you push the pedal the excess travel is used, the next push things are back to normal and work.

Lightly press the pedal sitting still and hold it lightly and see is it goes down slowly if it does replace the master cyl.
