I just picked up my 2013 . I'm so affraid of getting a door ding on it .

Someone mentioned to me that some step bars will prevent door dings to some extent . Would you guys agree ?

I like these steps , its hard to tell from the pic but would they help prevent door dings to some extent ?

FYI ill be putting 5100s set at 1.75 in the front and maybe a taller lift much further down the road .

Or would I be better off with the traditional steps ?

"Wilderness Parking". Park far away where no lazy, sloppy people will park next to you. That is what I do.

I'd just install sliders- if you do any wheeling, those steps will get hung up on rocks. You'll still be able to use your sliders as steps too. Just my .02

I found that sliders will be the most utilitarian option but if you want to stick with a clean look (IMO) go with OEM running boards. They stick out a couple inches and help protect against carts and smaller car doors as well as protect the side from any dirt/debris kicked up by the tires.

Unless you have a short significant other (or even if you do and you think they can live with it) I would recommend sliders w/a kick out. They can be pricy, might (or are) overkill, but I have a few paint chips in them from other car doors. They have protected my truck off road AND in parking lot :D

    THIS ^

I park a ways out, take a corner spot next to a curb to keep at least one vehicle away from my truck. Away from cart corrals, and upwind/up hill.

This is just how I always park, even when I had my beater POS civic. Ingrained in me.

Plus, it also promotes a healthy lifestyle. WALKING!

Only if you had about 12" of lift....the steps are too low & don't stick out far enough.

Honestly I don't plan on wheeling this truck . Not really interested in sliders .

I always try to park far away or in corner spots , but alot of people are just aholes and somehow still find a way to park close by .

I have heard that first hand from a lot of people! Even if you are planning on not wheeling the truck....sliders dont cost much and are IMO a much better investment.

I see what you mean , I think oem style might work better for what I'm looking for . Anyone want to recommend any oem style bars that are good quality ? There's so many to chose from !

The smitty bars look like they stick out nice and far.

Or better yet what are some reasonably priced sliders that stick out nice and far .
Must be bolt on , I don't want to weld to my brand new frame .

Btw I have a long bed double cab

I thought that's what sliders were for. :)

    Same here.

I park so far away at large store parking lots, you'd think my truck belongs to an employee there. :D

Those look like they will protect alittle from other doors , I was looking through the stickies but theres few that were strickly bolt on for long bed double cabs . I need to do some more research.
Otherwise I might go with oem style steps.
