Oh, and go buy a "Luffa" for your skin". Also an abrasive, but won't leave metal in your pores.

Personally the only time I let steel wool touch glass is with another substance.....

My buddy's and I had someone shit on our Jeep rental SUV windshield at MT Hood 7 years ago. Who knew Oregon used rocks on their roads instead of salt? When we got done skiing and saw the huge turd on the windshield we put two and two together and realized everyone we passed on the way up was sprayed with pebbles.

Special props goes out to the staff at the rental agency for giving us a truck with zero washer fluid. We were all almost puking the whole ride down the mountain because my buddy hit the wipers and smeared it all over

We were so cheap that night we emptied a salt shaker into the washer resi and filled it with water.

In all seriousness I can't get to far into it because it's a proprietary process but we do use steel wool on glass. It's used to aid in bonding 'products' to the glass because it is perfect at scratching the glass and providing extra "bite" when bonding. The microscopic scratches aid in the bonding process and once sealed with the 'product' it's not visible to the naked eye and not open to environmental contaminants.

Let's just put it this way if anyone doesn't think 0000 scratches I suggest they use it on a microscope slide than look at it magnified. Or if you have some real balls try it on your glasses or sunglasses and let me know how that works out for you.
