Alright guys, I had an 89 ext cab pickup. I sold it due to financial reasons. Well, I am back in the market for another truck but I won't be making the mistake I did with that one.
With that said, I am looking at an 08-10 4x4 DCSB TRD O/R. I might be going new, depending if I can get a good enough down payment to where I am comfortable paying. If not, then I will be going with the years listed above.
I have a family of 4 and a dog: wife, 5 yr old, 1yr old, 45lb Siberian Husky. I will be using it as a DD and an occasional weekend wheeling rig.
What should I be looking for with a used vehicle? condition, mileage, lifts, ANYTHING you can think of will be great.
I don't want any crude comments or any smarta** remarks either.

I will be purchasing within the next three months.

    I just bought a 2010 double cab 4x4 w/ 50K miles. $23,500.

Def need a DC. I'd look for one w/ as low of miles as you can get. Should be between 25-50K miles for a 3-4 year old truck. Besides looking at the interior to make sure it is in good shape, check to make sure it goes into 4H and 4L.
I always look at the oil, antifreeze, and other fluids as an indication that it is well maintained.
Biggest thing I look for is how it drives on the test drive.
    Good luck w/ your search.

I just purchased a 2007 CC 4x4 LB w/ 60k for 17k , it took me 3 months to find one ,granted it's a base model with out all the bells and whistles, but it's a 1 owner, look for a truck that's been on a lot for a long time or a private seller, you can make a better deal, with a large family I would stick to a CC, Good Luck

thanks for the replys. I will DEFINITELY be looking for a DCSB. If i don't get the TRD O/R, then I don't get it. If it's the right deal then I will get it!
