I understand where you are coming from being as we are from PA, however his state may allow that (PA even allows it as long as its not obnoxious, my truck sticks out half an inch but they say nothing)

I believe the jeep isn't "road legal" because both of the rear taillights are broken and the visible red coverings are gone. Also the rear bumper isn't really there, just the small exposed metal piece.

Yeah I'd try haggaling with his insurance company before getting a lawyer. Also don't forget about an alignment check at least, Looks like the Buick might have hit the drivers left wheel, don't know with how much force was put on it.

    It should buff out!

I was kidding, but in all seriousness, check over the your insurance policy because some companies will put savaged parts on your truck and just paint match and you can't tell. It has happend to me before. Just make sure you get genuine toyota parts like previously stated above.

    +1

since he fessed up you can get another repair quote and have your insurance get it back for you.

Looks like his insurance has to pay for 4 cars so it looks like they're trying to minimize the payout.

An alignment and frame check was one of the things I was most concerned about getting. Good thing is they will happen.

I don't know how it goes in your area but around here you can take it to whom ever you choose to repair your truck. Its not up to the insurance who fixes it.

Funny you say that because one of the aftermarket items is a bumper cover. lol. After speaking with the body shop he was saying the same thing. I might end up costing the insurance agency more if/when the aftermarket crap doesn't line up and they have to send it back and order OE parts. Tack on more days to the rental (scheduled for 5 days) it would be smarter for them to pony up for the little bit more for OE parts. Plus as a bonus I quit bugging them! LOL

FYI, insurance companies will only pay for aftermarket parts if the vehicle is over 2 years old. I had that happen to me. The guys insurance said if I wanted OEM parts, then I would have to pay the difference. They said it's so insurance companies can keep the costs down and more money in the insuranced's pocket as well. I call bullshit! The aftermarket stuff is cheaply made and doesn't always hold up.

That goes for here too. Unfortunately for me they can still try to low ball the estimate.

I believe it's based on model year. Not when it was first purchased or manufactured. At this point, anything 2010 or older would not be OEM anymore.
