man it's not my business to tell you what to do with your money, but you did make a thread about it so i might as well just say it. it sounds like you simply cant afford the truck right now. why try to squeeze yourself this way and that way with leases and selling this and that just to make it work? cause it also sounds like if you do get the truck your lifestyle is gonna have to be seriously limited compared to now . . just not worth it in my opinion. but that's also my non material kind of self coming out. all my tv's, guitars, cars, bought 'em used. . . . but that's just me. :)

I agree with this as well.. If you can't really afford the truck, you are going to hate feeling strapped down, and it will turn into hating the truck instead of loving it.

The truck doesnt come with sweet accessories, tires and stuff. These things all cost.. ALOT of money. So if you can afford this truck but it doesnt leave you with much spending money, save the headache and just buy something you can afford..

well it depends on how used.. like any other vehicle it will definitely be cheaper used. but like we both know these trucks have excellent resale value which means these trucks would be worth alot more used than a domestic

Like a new ford could be 60k but in 4 years be worth only 25

but a new tacoma 37k and in 4 years worth 25

these are rough numbers don't flame me too much on them haha but you get the idea

Rule of thumb for vehicle payment is 10% of gross income. So if you make more than $5470 a month, it shouldn't put excessive strain on your finances.

X3?, Better letting the dream go then finding yourself stuck with a "nightmare" being the payments and added stress that would bring.

i was just going off my personal definition of "much". is $2000 much money? i think so.

you can compare the price of something to something else to make one seem like a plausible buy, but at the end of the day, if you don't have to spend more to get basically the same, why spend more? :drevil:

true, the crappy thing about financing used trucks is that the interest rates are alwaysa higher than new.. so if the OP was going to buy like a pretty new truck instead of new then I would just go for new and add another year.. it would be better in the long run if you don't have much to put down.

In my opinion its like, you can get a brand new truck or get a truck thats like at least 7 grand cheaper and finance that one.

I actually have no idea what the OP's finance situation is like so i might be just pissing in the wind haha

I got my '09 in May for 26k it was originally 22 then after fees and I got the warranty from carmax came out to 26k so ya it was a big difference compared to something new, mileage was a little high 49k but its a toyota so that didn't seem to bad at all. Has the package that I was looking for. I can't complain one bit.

    808 ALLDAY!!
ok, just stopped by the dealer, $33,462.58 out the door for the 2013 DCLB trd sport package, brand new. My loan check is approved, $494 a month. Now time for a couple beers and think this over this weekend. Think I'll sell my Rubi and put 10k towards the truck loan and use the left over for lift/tires etc, then if theres anything left over, put that towards my girls car...hope she wont be too upset  Thanks for all advise guys!!

    Aloha

^Does your girl prefer the Jeep over a car? Does she like off roading?
