Oil drain washers - I'm curious

    Mine come pre-lubed and sealed from the factory. I only use the tall OE filters for the Lexus V-8. :)

    All Toyota filters have a Vaseline looking coating on them, then a plastic covering. I put oil on it anyways to be safe

    I always use a little oil from the old oil filter because it is right there and I haven't opened a new bottle of oil yet. Do you think I'm doing damage?

    Now let's talk about prefilling the oil filter before the install? Oh wait, the idiot Toyota engineers designed the V6 so you can't without making a mess? ;)
