"13 head unit album art?

Am I mistaken or is the new screen head unit in the 2013's supposed to show album art if playing off your iphone?

I'm talking non JBL system, there is a spot where the album art should be shown but its never there.

It will only display if you have it connected via cable. It will not show up via BT.

You have to turn it on in the radio settings. Sometimes mine is slow to show it on the screen.

 

MIne usually shows up when connected via cable, occasionally it doesn't. The interface seems a touch quirky also. If my radio is on, and I switch between ipod and radio, then back to ipod, I get no sound. I have to turn off radio, and turn back on.

 

I will get some of the album art through pandora and spotify when streaming BT, it is hit and miss.

 

Yeah! I find that on my radio, it's a hit and miss too. The album does work though through my Iphone if it's connected though the usb connection.

 

I have had the same issues! Album art generally works, it looks nice, but I find somtimes I get no audio when I switch to ipod mode. I thought it was because I have an old iphone 3Gs, but I guess its a common issue?

 

I have a 2013 non-etune, and have never seen album art, but I also don't own an iphone or ipod. I'm not a big fan of apple products (actually itunes is my problem), so unless I get an aftermarket double din, I don't think i'll see anything lol.

Also, the 2013 audio manual booklet (or whatever its called) has the compatible ipod/iphone list somewhere on there.

 

I don't think that this is your problem, but it is something to consider.

Depending on the size of the jpeg that is stored for your artwork, it can take a long time for the image to display onscreen. I loaded some larger-size images into my iTunes catalog and every one of those took a lot longer to display than the "stock" ones. I replaced them with small images and everything was back to normal.

 

There is a way to turn the Album art on and off. Go to Setup, then hit General, and there should be an option for Display Animation or Captured Images. Make sure they are set to ON and then make sure you Save your new settings. This worked for me.

 

I have a 2013 non-etune head unit and I get album art when I connect my I pod with the USB cable. I can also operate my ipod through the touch screen. I am totally amazed that my 13 reg cab 4x4 with crank windows has this unbelievable head unit.
