Just wondering what the most of us are using for oil... Do you synthetic or regular oil?
Can you go longer between oil changes with synthetic on these trucks?

...oh the vast amount of decisions we have in today's world. I use synthetic, you can go longer between oil changes and its been known not to break down as much during extreme circumstances. But you're going to pay more for oil too. Quite frankly, in my opinion, as long as your keeping an oil level and changing it as needed it doesn't matter. Conventional will work, you'll just change it more often. But if you use synthetic you should stay with synthetic. Don't switch back to conventional.

Oh, and I'm sure this has been brought up before. Try searching next time!

Does the 1000000th customer to start a synthetic vs conventional oil thread like this win a prize?

It is really personal preference. I use conventional since I always change it 3000-5000 miles. If you want to go longer, synthetic can provide some added security. In the end, it probably doesn't make much of a difference anywhere but your pockets. I have yet to see an engine pulled apart, even after 230k miles, that showed any difference in wear between synthetic and conventional oil users.

200+ posts, you should know better, or at least say why the hundreds of other threads on this topic weren't sufficient.

Apparently my 2012 come from the factory w/ synthetic 0w-20. I get free oil changes for life from the dealer I bought from. After reading some threads about dealers using bulk oil instead of synthetic I am not sure I want to chance it. I may try them once and then send a sample for analysis to see if they actually used synthetic.

So, since I am only a second week owner I think I currently have synthetic.

Well dip-shit you shouldn't have put your stupid poll in a public forum then. While your at it why don't you bore all of us by asking how often you should change your oil, what octane fuel to use & how long you should warm up your truck. Oh yeah, what caliber of gun is best for home defense? Wait, You're in Canada, never mind. LMFAO! :D

wait so you ask a question on a public forum and when i respond with a sarcastic answer to a question that is on the level of "haynes or fruit of the loom" when there is a function on here call SEARCH...you claim you didn't ask me to respond??!! you're funny. with 200+ posts you ought to know better. and i'll respond to any thread i want to, with any answer i want to. if you ain't ready for the truth, gtfo
