Had a good laugh this morning... $42k for a 4x2

Well I stopped into the dealership this morning to get my squeaky clutch looked at and as I am making my boredom stroll I run across a Tacoma Prerunner with a sticker of $41,845.88

Of course I had to know what was in there and I must say, someone was smoking crack if they think this is nice...

It appears that every bolt-on, stick-on, and slap-on accessory made was affixed to this poor little beast.

 

That's nuts. I bet they have sold one like that before or close to it. So that is why they are asking the world for it. Some rich person who doesn't care will come close to it if that's what they want.

 

41.8K for a 2WD?? What is that dealership smoking?

 

That was the same reaction I had... I started laughing out loud and then taking pictures as I continued to giggle.

I'd expect it to be supercharged if they are asking that much....

Dont you just love how dealerships try and rape you for $10K more when its probably only $2K in aftermarket parts maybe a little more. Douches.

 

Damn my 16s were only $600!! I wish I could afford some $2000 ones. and for $42k not only are u getting the best looking truck ever built from the factory but u also get full front protection with the bull bar!! Just think of all the things u could ram with that thing ......... Ok I can't think of any but its gotta be worth the money

 

They still have them. I go there from time to time for parts and see the monstrosities they have out front. It's amazing what guys will buy with deployment $$$. On another note I will never spend $40k+ on a vehicle (4x4 or not) well make that $25k+ but that's just me.

 

I just built this on the Toyota site and I wonder where the 9,000 come from. The PIAA lights and bumper?

What do the lights go for, maybe $250 tops?

I understand dealership mark up but this seems a bit high, even for a dealer

 

Maybe it's a total plot to sell all the new 4x4s out on the lot for 10k less. Makes them look like a steal!

 

The sad part is, someone will buy it.
