Hey, I am new here, I apologize if this has already been thoroughly addressed.

I have had toyotas all my life and use them on 4 continents for work vehicles, and rarely have problems.

Two years ago I bought a used 4x4 2005 tacoma (USA) and have had 8 front wheel bearings go out. I use these trucks on rough roads for work but treat them nice.

I have never had any toyota sideline me like this, is it the year or the truck or toyota? I would love any thoughts or info.

    Thanks, Hugh

Where did the bearings come from? Oem or aftermarket?

I should have also asked if all on one corner or various ones, and like another asked, what source for the new bearings.

My 2006 has only had the wheel bearings replaced once. Wheels and tires haven't been stock since she was 6 months old. Sounds like an issue with your specific vehicle or the person that is installing them.

Toyota Dealership of Knoxville ate the bill every time (once the originals were replaced) and said they haven't seen this happen.

I use 4 wheel drive daily and have had Tacoma, Tundra, 4Runner, LandCruiser for employee/personal, and never had this issue.

What else can you guys think up?

They're footing the bill, think they'd go after the root problem. That's what a mechanic should do.

I do ford rivers (100 yards) and creeks daily but it is only 2-3 feet deep, and no other tacoma or toyota I have has these problems. (half my farm is an island on a large river) Thanks

Sounds like that may have something to do with it, but I'd think that if there was water intrusion they would have talked to you about it. I wonder if all the seals are in good shape. Fording water daily is certainly a harsh service environment.

Maybe swap hubs/bearing housing? All that pressing and removing along with rust may have fucked it up. Everyday wear like heat on the assembly and then extreme cooling from water maybe warped them?
