Buttons/Blanks on Dash

    The '08 Tacoma TRD Off Road SR5 that I'm looking at buying has three blanks next to the mirror controls. I've seen Tacoma's with buttons in place. Traction Control, Downhill Assist (DAC), and Roll Stability Control (RSCA)... What determines if a tacoma has these buttons in place?

    Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think those options are on the TRD Off Roads, 2009 and up.

    I know I should know the systems in my truck, but does that button disable the bags when switched in 4WD?

    In other words, what is it used for... and why? :eek:

    Disables the side curtain air bags, for off road situations. You wouldn't want to be on a crazy lean off roading, and bam, side curtain air bags go off, cause it thinks your in a roll over.

    It disables the curtain airbags that come on if they sense a roll over situation , the disable button is there so you can turn them off if you are doing offroading that involves high leans of the truck

    OP if the truck isn't 4x4 then you might not have those switches. Truck trim packages and options vary. Also auto and stick have a different button too.
