I know the passenger side airbag has a switch in the seat that won't allow the regular bag to inflate if a small child is in the seat. Does that also control the side airbag?

I bring my nephew in my Tacoma from time to time and am wondering if I should turn off the curtain bags when he is with me.

    Too few to list.
I believe the switch only disables the front passenger air bag though you can turn off the side airbags. There should be a button to the left of your steering wheel.

Hold the RSCA button for a few seconds and it will turn off all Rollover Side Curtain Airbags.

But if he's not heavy enough to trip the airbag sensor in the seat, I wouldn't turn off the RSCA's. They deploy to the side and shield you from hitting the pavement in a rollover or glass/debris coming through the window if you're T-boned. I don't see it being a hazard to a small child.
