Tried to build one. Almost called customer service. Every time I tried it kept taking me to Gulf States to check inventory. Found that Edmunds works much better. Wish they still had MSRPs in brochure.

Tried on my desk top same results. What a carppy website. Dealer inventory listings are to navigate too. I expect more out of Toyota.

The build tool is all about getting you to buy a toyota nothing else. If you looking for information go through the options tab on the website. You'll find more info. there.

Even if you build one online you still have to go through a dealer? I'm confused at what's wrong?

I am trying to get MSRP with options I want. I looked at dealer inventory and cannot seem to find what I want. Patience was wearing thin because I was struggling with their websites.

It's a Gulf States Toyota thing, for some reason or another, they've disabled it for zip codes within their distribution area. I figured out to just use a San Diego zip code so the tool will work (92101).

This is par for the course for Gulf States.

That is kind of what if thought. I tried a different location but by the time I did I was totally frustrated with the whole thing. Edmunds is much easier to use. Toyota needs to fix that.

I understand your frustration OP as I experienced the same. I resorted to building my taco on my iPad and works fine

Put in a zip code from California (try 90604) and you can build anything available in California.
Put in a zip code from Phoenix and you can build anything available in Arizona.

In your area, your Toyota will come from Gulf States, and they assemble different configurations than other parts of the country, so the Toyota site will not work properly for your area.

I have to say it again. What a carppy website. Why have features that do not work and just get people riled up. I will just use Edmunds from now on and while I am at it I will look at Fronteirs too.

Lol if you have that many negative things to say about Toyota (all because of a website, that I will add works fine for others) then go somewhere else.. Simple as that.

Some of you all are as defensive as people on the Ford forum. A forum is a place to express what you think good or bad. I am experiencing some real issues with the website as are others. I like my Tacoma but not necessarily married to it. I left Ford after many are because of bad engineering. I hope to be a Tacoma owner for the rest of my life but will jump ship if it starts to sink.

We're trying to help! If you would do some of the things that have been suggested then you would get the info. you are looking for. The fact that you are considering another truck because of a website is rediculous.

My only qualm didn't have anything to do with the Toyota website. If it doesn't work for you alright, use Edmonds.. It was the fact you added "oh while ok at it ill look at the frontier" that just makes you a troll in my book.

Not a troll. I am a current Tacoma owner looking to buy another. I have tried all the suggestions and none worked. Who knows maybe I will lol at the Frontier and decide I like it. Problem I have is with Toyota and no one on this forum. I emailed them several days ago but have not heard anything.
