Attached below is a link that displays exactly what I'm wanting to do to my truck.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyW5jnrE9IY

I have a 2006 PreRunner TRD without DTRL's, and I'm looking to do the above mod to the front lights on my truck while at the same time installing LED blinkers on the rear as well.

I'm clueless as to what all I need in order to do this mod to my truck.

I'mfairly educated with different setups for different combinations of lights, but it seems this mod has been done a couple of different ways, and most of the threads I read are ones that turned out unsuccessful.

I thought I saw somewhere that csjumper2003 actually switched to an 1157 bulb rather than a 3157 and had to modify wiring in order to get his to work properly, but I could use some clarification.

Can anyone help? Anyone else have success doing this mod? I need to know what product I need, whether it be in line resistors or a new flasher. Also whether or not I need the CK wired LED's for the fronts.

Any info is much appreciated! :)

    Wow!

So within minutes of posting this I have figured out alot.

There are TWO good ways to do this mod and they vary based off of your preference:

    1. Factory Style where the DTRL's are OFF when headlights are ON.
    2. Custom Style where the DTRL's are ON at all times.

User: csjumper2003 sells kits in order to install either style and he'll give you a price through PM. He was a pleasure to deal with and I'd highly recommend you buy a kit from his setup. I plan on doing this mod Factory Style on my truck, and I will post pics and a DIY for the second generation Tacoma's if at all possible on TW within a few months.

CRAP! I just ordered these parts below. I'm now concerned about the lens melting and I just saw this post for LED DRL's. Can I still use LED's for my front blinker/DRL's with the parts I ordered? I figure there will be less heat in the lens housing.

Pm sent to explain. These are to add factory Dtrls or daytime running lights. My kit works great with them.

Did you use the LED? Did the work or had heating and melting problems? Thanks!

You will not have overheating issues with my LEDs. Heat issues are only with filament bulbs.
