I have checked my mpg on my last couple of tanks and have gone from about 16mpg to about 13to14 mpg any suggestions why?

How long does a tank last you? A week? Longer? Has there been a temp change in your area?

Probably the combination of winter blend gas and colder temps. I get really crappy mileage when it gets cold, mostly due to warm up time and running the defroster more.

Here is how far my last tank got me....

I would think you should have noticed this for the last 2 months?

If lower MPG just started maybe other problem? Did any of the service lights come on?

Whens the last time you have changed the plugs? Cleaned air filter?

Looks like you are in bama so i am sure not too cold so throw in a bottle off injector cleaner/water remover. Thats always a cheap easy start. Ya never know.

Have you put your foot to the floor more often or even just dove more aggressively in general lately?

More city driving that HWY driving maybe?

Do places down south even switch to a winterblend?

Gosh thats horrible, i don't notice a difference between summer and winter mpg. I get 365 on a tank before my light comes on. Ive had a 2nd gen taco and now a 4th gen 4runner and they both get exactly the same mpg. Both with stock tires and up to date maintenance.

16 mpg it sounds low also, is that normal for a 4x4? . I get 20 mpg constantly on my prerunner 4x2 though.

If you are a lead foot like me then yes that is normal. I got even worse with my old 2.7 2wd.

Yeah, mine sucks like that in the winter too.
I usually get 300 to 325 miles out of the same amount of fuel in the summer, but then I am also running P245/75R16 Michelin Latitude Tour in the summer which are some of the lightest tires you can run on a Tacoma. My 265/75R16 winter tires on steel OEM rims weigh considerably more. Winter gas sucks. I did the air conditioner disconnect when running the defroster mod thinking it would save me some gas but it didn't do much.

Could be o2 sensors. Though, if you've been a lead foot lately, that is the reason.
