That sucks. In Ar. we don't even have inspections anymore. They did away with those almost 20 years ago.

On a side note, I pulled up next to a Baja Edition with a TRD exhaust on it and it sounded pretty good. I had never heard one before but it wasn't bad. Not $400 good mind you (or whatever they cost) but not bad. I still like mine being stealth and not seen nor really heard.

It just looks so much "cleaner" with no exhaust hanging out the back

i have a fiend who had a little ranger, he did this to his truck, i think he cut it at 2 different places, one by the rear axle, got louder, lost, back pressure, and he took off the whole thing after the catalytic converter, got even louder, and lost even more back pressure, well based on butt dyno of his though. But the sound was much more different. Super loud. We drove to Tahoe, (2 hour trip, each way) it gave us headache, I almost ended up throwing up.

The stock exhaust on our trucks is already mandrel bent from the factory. There is absolutely no reason to replace it with a catback system. Just replace the muffler. $600 is crazy!!! My Magnaflow muffler with install was under $150.
