I am getting ready to order the visor clip for 2005+ Tacoma (does not make a difference on the Tacoma model, I found), the hook shaped clip that holds the visor, opposite the hinge side. Would anyone be able to tell me if the plastic insert that fits into the sheet metal comes with it? I found the visor clip on a Toyota parts site online, but there is no detail on whether the sheet metal insert comes with the actual clip part or not.

The visor hook (clip) inserts into the plastic insert in the sheet metal, then turns 90 degrees to snap shut. The plastic insert in my sheet metal is also loose along with the broken visor clip, so any information on where that part would come from, if not with the visor clip, would be greatly appreciated.

Apparently, no one has ever had to replace this part...

    Thanks for looking...

Whats wrong with your visor, is it sagging down? If so keep me updated on the fix, mine is sagging down and the paperclips holding it up there looks a bit funny...

The visor itself is fine, no sagging. Long story short, a recent accident caused something to hit the clip near the center of the windshield, and the clip broke. I can purchase the clip, but the dealership did not know where to obtain the insert that goes into the sheet metal that the clip snaps into. My next step is to make something myself, or check with an upholstery shop. Since they do custome headliners, they might have a source for the body insert that snaps into the roof sheet metal. OR, I can scour some local auto recycling yards to see if I can obtain one there.
