Headliner removal

I am getting ready to remove my headliner from my 2011 Access Cab. What do I need to be careful of? I am concerened about the 4 plastic covers that say SRS Curtain Airbag on them. What is behind those covers? What holds the headliner on the sides of the cab?

i'm not sure how sensitive they are but messing with air bags freaks me out lol. probably just need to disconnect the battery and should be good to go.

I watched those videos before. His little plastic covers did not say SRS curtain airbags on them making me think he doesn't have air bags there. I am afraid to pop those covers. Are there air bags there?

 

Your side curtain air bags are behind there I work at a body shop and change and work around air bags all day. Just unplug your battery and you will be fine they wont deploy from just taking that panel off.

Those little plastic covers are just bolts to hold the headliner up. They also serve to redirect the airbag down along the window. The airbags aren't in them. Just open them up and unbolt them.

The airbag itself runs as a long tube from the rear, up along the upper door frame, down the A-pillar. You shouldn't run into any trouble with it.
