    Just clean off everything back to bare metal with a wire wheel and you'll be good.

    All sliders require maintenance. The scratches from use are no biggie. Where they weld to the frame is where it's good to clean well and paint with something like truck Berliner or underbody coating, it's more durable than rattle can. I suggest leaving the rock rash gouges as they are, you earned em

    It turned out well, I have to touch up about once a year. But I live in a place that is quite dry and there is never any road salt.

    so I received my shipment of POR-15 goodies-marine clean, prep & ready, paint for rust, and chassis coat semi gloss black. I got to sanding the sliders today (about an hour), used the marine clean to clean off. Tomorrow I will be doing the prep ready, paint, and coating. I'll try to find my girlfriend's picture camera so I can post some pix. I'll keep y'all updated.
