Stacking Lifts

Please answer this question with an open mind I am new to lifting a truck. I have a 2005 PreRunner dbl cb long bed, the most wheeling I do is fire roads every now and then. I like the look of the lifted Tacoma and mine is at 6". I have Icon's all around with 2.5 ext travel on front and 2.0 Resi's on back, I also have the Maxtrac spindles and Allpro Expo's. (My question is, I am considering purchasing a front plate bumper which weighs between 80 and 100 lbs. Would it be considered stacking lifts if I place a 1/4" or 1/2" top plate spacer to the coilovers to relieve the preload I would need to compinsate for the weight of the bumper? I am finding that PreRunner's are so much different than 4x4's as far as lift options. The reason this question came up is that OME, which is the lift I had prior to the Icon, suggested I purchase a set of top plate spacers to get a full 3"s of lift from that set up and I noticed that other than the coilovers being preassembled with the ability to change ride hight, aren't they using the same princeaple. Please don't laugh to hard. I have spent so much on this lift stuff and that's just on trial an error and believe me more error than anything. For the bucks I've spent learning, I could have been 3/4 of the way to a long travel. Thank's for the help.
