Its been about a month a got my Taco and joined TW and its been quite entertaining...

Information on tires is overwhelming, I have read a gazillion different opinions and reviews, everybody want to upgrade sizes some downgrade, but everything will depend on wheels, offset and backspacing before doing any oversizing and since there are 3 gazillion different choices here it gets complicated and fun to watch and now you got me investigating because against my beliefs now I want bigger sidewall  and considering some 70 aspect ratio tires so yesterday I stick my hand behind the front left tire and there is NO space there for any ugrade at least on OEM configuration so I enter the game of "what fits???"

    Suspension has been a hoot...

spacers are a no, no... but spacer manufacturers assure is fine...

5100's compress the spring giving rough ride...

    Pro Comp's are hard...

but OME's are fine as long as you don't find any lunar rocks on your way home from work...

if you happen to find such lunar rocks go to ToyTec...

but what to do? 3"? 4"? 6"? and don't even go to "just leveling" because then you will find yourself swamped in information :D

what if you haul a boat? or groceries? better get a Tundra then...

I go to the Tundra forum and find... "mpg is killing me!!! if you haul a boat or groceries get a Tacoma" :D

Tacoma owners add all kinds of stuff to their Tacos, from light bars to coolers and mod everything yet I have to find a thread called "modded key chain" :D

Now I know this tire and suspension stuff is not going to be figured out even by NASA engineers but I believe we need to start making info easier to digest starting by separating crawlers from street posers (me) and so on... also we need a gents NSFW forum with threads like "Tacos&Boobs" :D

I will end by saying that TW is awesome, the people here are helpful, respectful and I enjoy watching your builds, your mods, your suspensions and tire swaps a lot and i wish I could do it myself unfortunately I have different plans for my Taco, at least for the moment is just my DD and want to keep it stock and incospicuous for personal reasons...

if I had my way... 3"lift, 285's, light bar w PIAA's, exhaust, empty wallet

Nice post lol. We have a suspension section that answers street poser or off road. The problem is people will just post I want a 3" lift what do I get?

That's fine and dandy but you can't answer that question without knowing what they want to do. And everyone has their opinions so you'll never get 1 right answer.
