Best tacoma for fuel economy

What tacoma model has best mpg? What year has best mpg of all?

 

2013 4 cyl reg cab base model manual
no options to save weight
shift below 2000rpm
coast in neutral
make sure it's black because I hear black is usually faster than white
make sure you always drive downhill.
pretty much a prius with a bed at that point.

 

wish my Tacoma was a hybrid...or even a total plug-in.

 

I don't.

You can't fill up a jerry can with electricity and take it on the trail with you.

 

not an issue for my use. although the technology is probably there
