Antenna Wrench for 2013 Tacomas

The manual refers to an antenna wrench that appears to slide up and over the mast down to the hex section to remove (and install). I know a cresent will do it too, but looking for the OEM one. Did your 2013 or 2012 maybe come with one? Curious before I go to the dealer. Googled it and cant find it online.

 

Mine did. Discovered it in the glove box a couple of days ago.

 

There should have been a small nylon,( it sounds better than saying plastic) wrench that should have been in your glove box with all the paperwork. There was one with my 2012. Good Luck.

 

mine came with one. it should come with your truck since it's new. or to the dealer like you mentioned.

 

ok, that was quick. Confirmed. Anyone got a quick pic of it? I like the idea of nylon/plastic. Won't scratch the finish on the hex section...

Mine was also in the glove box as pictured above. 2012 AC.

 

my '13 came with one.

 

I got one with my '13 but it is useless now that I replaced it with a 21" Now I can drive the truck in my garage without the 31" oem antenna hitting the opened garage door.

 

Ya'll are great! One last question, does the wrench happen to have a part number stamped on it? If so, what is it. That will make my sourcing the wrench a lot easier. A great day to all. Thanks,

what mine looks like. no part numbers or anything. just bought my truck brand new.

 

The 2012 service manual I have doesn't list a P/N for the tool, it just refers to using a 8mm wrench.

I didn't get the tool mentioned in this thread, but I bought my 2012 with 4000 miles on it, 2nd owner.

 

Mine was in the glove box.

 

Speaking of antennas , what options do we have on shorting the oem one , I'd like to install one of the short rubber ones if possible .

Reason being now after installing my 5100s my antenna gets hung up every time I pull into my garage . Its so annoying !

What are my options ?

My 2012 came with one and the salesman had no clue what it was for.

 

My salesman demonstrated the wrench when I picked up my '13.

 

One didn't come with my 2012 as far as I can tell.

Should it just be laying loose in the glove box?

 

They come with one but it depends on the tech that does the pre delivery inspection if they put it in the truck or not.
