Hello everyone im new to this forum and need some advice about a newer tacoma I found that I would like to purchase.

My questions are about the price and the life of the truck,

So the truck itself is a carfax certified 1 owner truck, it is a 2007 4x4 access cab and is the 4 cyl manual transmission.

The truck has 175xxx on it and the dealer wants 10k for it. It has a clean carfax and a bunch of service papers with it for routine maintenence and all was done at toyota from the looks of it. On a few of the papers it says "recommended service done" but thats it. I am just hesitant because of the milage. I just want some advice and maybe some insight from guys that have high miles on these new trucks.

Im not new to toyota I have a 1987 pickup that has over 250xxx and is still my dd, but im not familiar with the new models. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I apologize if this is posted in the wrong section.

If they are calling it certified with 175,xxx on it then you should never go to that dealer again. You can not certify a vehicle with more then 70 or 80,000 miles. Can remember which one but it is by far not even close to 175k

    Can all Toyotas be Certified?

[IMG] No. A Toyota Certified Used Vehicle (TCUV) must be a current model year Toyota, up to and including six year old models, and have 85,000 miles or less on the odometer. Each Toyota dealer is required to order a full CARFAX® Vehicle History Report™ with results showing NO ineligible requirements. Then, each vehicle must meet or exceed all 160-points of our Quality Assurance Inspection. These strict standards ensure that only the best of the best vehicles receive the Toyota Certified Seal of Approval.

Thank you but it was my mistake in the wording of my first post. It is not Toyota certified, it is carfax certified 1 owner. My mistake I apologize

Oh. haha. That makes more sense. Then I suppose if you think it is worth it and the carfax is clean then go for it. I have been looking for a 1st gen thats cheap but it seems that they all are priced kinds high for me to buy it as a beater truck.

Looks like a great truck to me. And for 10k too. Seems like a good deal as long as it is in proper working order and the mantinence has been taken care of. I personally would take it to another toyota shop and have them give it a good inspection before buying because of the milage. But on a Toyota thats really not too many miles. Then I would low ball the shit out of the dealer until we could agree on a price.

Is there anything in particular I should look for with these? Any soft spots or trouble areas?

Wheel Bearings and the Air Bag light recall is all that comes to mind right off the top. I am sure others will chime in too.

i bought my 2010 from carmax and they sell quality vehicles. Onle problem i see is the high mileage and the fact that they dont haggle price so if your comfortable with a 150K+ vehicle i'ld say go for it. If not shop around some more, the truck isn't gonna go anywhere and they can ship vehicles in from other locations (for a fee depending on distance, had my brought in from a couple hours away so it was free)
