    Yeah, I re-did KBB w/ 4x4 and that's what I got.

I'd list it at $25k or so on every semi-local craigslist.

You need to sell it before buying something else? You owe money on it? You have any kind of time frame?

(Don't want to pry... Don't answer anything you don't want to.)

I have a company vehicle and no longer need it. I need money for the business, i own the truck outright and will not be buying another vehicle. I do not have a time frame in mind as of yet, i can wait on this and am really not in a rush...

Yeah... It sounds like you're in a perfect situation to list it and wait for somebody willing to pay what you'll take.

I'd figure out what you'd like to take for it, then add a couple thousand and wait for the right buyer.

Toyota wanted to give me $20k on the car I just sold to buy my TACOMA. I said no way. Sold it on craigslist for full asking price of $27500.

I get to take my wife on the all inclusive Carribean vacation, buy steps, tonneau, and still bank some money, instead of the dealer getting to do it. LOL

All the used TACOMA's in my area with lower miles (less than 50k) were ridiculous to buy used. 2008 DCSB 4x going for 27-28k range. I bought brand new for under 31k, got new everything, free service, full warranty and I know how it was maintained for just a few $k more. In this economy I think you are better buying new vs. used. I actually leased.

I'm starting to think I should have asked more for mine!

Just sold my '06 TRD OR Prerunner w/ 56k miles for $19k. Bought it 5yrs ago for $22,450. The buyer was happy w/ the price, and it ended up being just $500 short of paying off the 2011 Subaru Outback I just bought, so I'm happy, too.

    Still..........

I think you did alright. How much does a new equivalent go for?

My wife loves her 2012 Outback though!

In Baltimore I would say $22,000. Look at R&H, Russell, Darkar and other dealers to gauge their prices on new Tacomas. They all advertise 2013s with TRD packages starting at $28,500.

One of the reasons I passed on a 2010 with 28k miles for $24K last year was the new ones were so close in price. I was used shopping for a while so I saw a lot of prices. The high priced ones stayed on the market for a long time.

Local dealership has a few '13 TRD OR Prerunners for ~$31k.

Yeah... Had been looking for an Outback for a while. Found a 2011 Limited in Houston via cars.com and got it for just $1k more than the Taco brought (including shipping it to B'ham).

And to get myself back on topic, sort of....

Don't answer when somebody asks for your "rock bottom" price. That question always pissed me off. I wouldn't ask a buyer what his absolute top dollar was. Since they were potential buyers, I wouldn't get too preachy, but I'd always tell them to make an offer and I'd let them know.

My rock bottom is always the asking price, then let them stew on that and let them make an offer if they want to.

    Truth.

I have an account, but it got locked for some reason. The last few things I've sold on CL I've had to sell w/o using the account.

What others have said. Start at Carmax. Typically they will give the most of the dealers/trade value because they frontline(sell themselves) the cars they take in most of the time.

If you are buying from a dealer they might match that, however your best bet is usually to sell private party. It's a hassle to deal with the public, but you'll get top dollar that way. List on Craigslist, Truck trader etc..

Ebay motors is awful IMHO. They had erroneous crap on their freebie vehicle history report saying a family truck that was owned by my dad for 20 years before dying had been "salvaged" 15 years ago. I had to jump through so many hoops with DMV's and proving to them their records were wrong. Blah.. then there's their fees for listing AND for Paypal. UGH.
