Okay well I have an 07 prerunner automatic(sealed) transmission and I'm just wondering if it would work. A new front axle (Dana 44) and transfer case(twin stick of course! :D).
How do you guys feel about this? Is there anything else I'd have to do/get? Thanks for the help!

alot of work and $$$$ but you could do it. browse the SAS section, plenty of people do it. if the trucks paid off, just trade it in on a newer 4x4

I've seen a few 1st gens do it but never a second gen, idk the idea just sounds kinda fun. But I do really like the 2012/2013s! I just can't decide lol.

My opinion on this whole thing is you should trade in for a 4x4 and then later down the road if you really want to SAS then you can decide. SAS is a lot of work and a lot of planning i have been collecting parts and talkting to many people about doing a SAS. I wouldnt even think about starting one for a nother 4-5 months and i have been researching for over 4 months now. Definatly a lot of money and a lot time goes into a good setup.
