I could be wrong but I don't think you'd want 886's unless you were putting on an aftermarket front bumper as those would be needed to support the extra weight.

No , without extra weight up front you're better off with the 885's and their lower spring rate

OME 885x front coils with OME shocks, Driver side coil Trim Packer, 10mm top plate spacers, Light Racing UCA's, 1 inch differential drop, swaybar relocate hardware, carrier bearing drop, rear Bilstein 5100 shocks with 1.5 inch block, Firestone Ride Rite Air Bags, front windows tinted.
I currently have the OME 885x set-up in front with the OME trim packer on the driver side, but still sits slighltly lower than the passenger side. Would anyone recommend installing a 1/2 inch spacer on the driver side and a 1/4 inch spacer on the passenger side to get closer to a 3 inch overall lift?

    You can do that

You will need longer studs for the 1/2" spacer

    Thanks.
I'm still confused as to when or why I should replace the UCA's. Is it really necessary? I'm thinking of doing so when I install the spacers.
The truck rides great now until I reach 65 MPH, when it wants to pull to the driver's side. Again, thanks for any advice.

    .
The common thinking around here is that when you raise the front end past 1.75 inches in the front, you may no longer be able to get your front end to align correctly. In our case, when the suspension is raised it changes the geometry of the suspension and the tires will no longer sit perfectly perpendicular to the ground and it will be too far out of whack to correct by alignment alone. The term that is used when talking about it is called Camber. Too much camber is expressed as either 'Negative' or 'Positive' camber. A brief explanation is here: http://search.yahoo.com/r/_ylt=A0oG....ehow.com/info_8703413_caster-camber-toe.html
The end result of this will be that the front tires will not wear properly meaning either the inside edge or the outside edge will wear out sooner than the rest.
Now, with that being said, it has been my experience that not everyone has this problem past 1.75, in fact, I have met guys you have gone a full three inches and swear that they don't have that problem. I suspect that it may have something to do with the overall weight of the truck, ie, a stock access cab vs. a loaded double cab with all kinds of accessories on it, that's my pet theory anyway.
Bottom line is, you can do it two ways, you can install the lift without new UCA's and take it in and see if it can be aligned, or you could go ahead and install the entire thing and lift it as much or as little as you want and not have to worry about being able to align it correctly.

Your extra weight theory might be right on, as my truck will pull to the driver's side, especially when loaded.
Thanks for your time and the write-up.

What is this tacoma lean you are talking about? My truck has 16000km on it fairly new first tacoma ever and i will be installing a lift is the lean something to worry about? is it that noticeable I would try the 1/4 on passenger and 1/2 on driver if it makes a difference.

Sometimes when lifted the truck will sit slightly lower on the front drivers side. Not sure how noticeable it is. I'm lifted 3" via suspension lift and I don't notice it if its there but I never measured to see if I really off or not. I got the spacer to correct the lean but never installed.
