    Better to just replace the whole rack or replace the seals with oem?

    My boot is leaking on the passenger side all over my LCA :(


    I never touched one so i'm not sure which option would be the "better" one.

    oem seals are about 100 , o'reillys are maybe 50ish

    750ish for the rack oem and 400ish for a cardone(o'reillys).

    I guess the other note, is there any physical difference between the 2wd & 4wd labeling? Like max turning radius or slightly different dimensions?

    When my boot started leaking it wasn't long till the rack gave up. It got dirt, mud, etc. in the rack and killed it. May want to make sure that hasn't happened.

    Whatever you do, DONT BUY A REBUILT STEERING RACK. I went through HELL a year ago with rebuilds. Bought a dealership one, no problems since. I have a first gen, but it's the same deal.

    2WD usually means 5-lugger.

    I don't have much experience with rack and pinion steering. It looks like it may be just as easy to replace the whole rack but like I said I don't have much experience with the rack and pinion set up.

    not yet, haven't had time. I'll probably order an OEM rack and change it out myself..
