mud flaps gone, second air-filter gone, DTRL, fog light whenever and work with hi-beams, cut exhaust (was wicked flow), flat black stock rims, ABS switch, cup holder led's (with switch), turning signal mod #45, Bilstien 5100's, grill mesh
What are your thoughts on this? The truck is worth 14,500. The BMW is 15K and has only had one owner with no accidents. I would love to get it .... but, its hard to say goodbye to it though

Really? I always thought BMW's were pretty reliable.

    ^this

Everyone I know who has owned a secondhand Audi or BMW has spent thousands in repair fees. Save your money and stick with your reliable taco.

If the BMW is a manual, do it. If not then no.

Also, you and I have interesting geographical histories. I went to school/lived in Riverside, now I live in Arlington.

You're form Murrieta, now you live in Alexandria. :)

^^ This. As well as the fact that maintenance is more expensive on these. Parts like oil filters and spark plugs cost a lot more and if you pay someone to have it worked on be ready to take out a loan.

I sold my BMW 335i and used the money for a 2013 Taco 4x4 and all that jazz.

I do plan on getting the M4 so it didn't matter but I kinda miss it from time to time.

Save your money and time with something else...after the E30, BMW's of all kinds became electronic NIGHTMARES. If something breaks, you'll spend your life savings trying to get to work again...

That's funny because I am actually going the other way. I currently have an '08 335i. It is fun to drive, but like others have said, be prepared to pay out the arse for anything that goes wrong. I now am dealing with a DSC/ABS pump that has gone out at 56K miles. It only cost a whopping $1200+. I bought the car used and thankfully it was still under warranty at the time. When I got it, it was cold out and didn't have the AC checked. Later found out it was not working, but the warranty covered it.

As nice and fun as the 335i is, I don't think I could honestly recommend anyone buying one if you plan on keeping it for a while. I would tell you to stick with the Taco. Just my $.02

I have a 2011 328xi, still under warranty. A guy I work with just traded his '08 because it was coming off warranty and didn't want to deal with repair costs. Another guy I work with has an '07 530xi and he has been bled dry with that thing. Every time he takes it in its $1,500 to $2,000.

I'm going back to a Tacoma - soon.

I had one and loved driving it. Especially after I added the Dinan software. I'm happier in a truck, though. Always have been. The BMW (like a porsche) is a lover. The truck is a wife.

Strange. I just joined this forum because I am considering trading in my 07 335i coupe on a '13 Taco. I absolutely love the 335. The ride and performance is by far the best of any in its class. However, what has been said above is dead on. Last week I had a wire harness that needed to be replaced due to mice chewing on it. No biggie, I knew that these things would be expensive to fix. A week later, I have a new harness, new spark plugs, valve cover gasket, Vanos modules, break fluid, and a $2600 tab. Only to hear the shop (well respected independent) tell me the wastegate on the turbos are bad and throwing codes. Fortunately, my 92k mile BMW is still under CPO till 100k and the end of March 2013. Taking it to the dealership for new turbos. IF I didnt have a CPO, this month would have cost me $9000!!!!

Im getting rid of it before something goes out of warranty.

But DAMN! It IS a great looking car that, overall, outperforms anything on the street in regards to performance, ride/comfort, and style. Gonna hate to see her go. But, I hope to go for the european delivery of a new M4 next year!
