Don't have any good pics with the bikes handy and they in storage at the moment while I'm renovating my house. I need to improve my solution for holding the bikes upright since I didn't go with the fork-locking type of bike trays. Hoping to have more time next month to improve the bike mounts and actually do some riding.

Cost was around $600 after adding the bike tray supports, corner gussets/tie downs, and light tabs. Plus maybe another $100 for paint and mounting hardware.

Couldnt find a good solution to mounting my quickfist shovel and axe mounts to the rack that didn't cost a stupid amount, so some 0.04" aluminum sheet and a couple 5/16" bolts seem to work.

Probably been done before, but I couldn't find any other examples like it when I looked.

Never weighed it directly, but just adding up the materials, it's probably about 90lbs.

Very nice! Everything turned out perfect IMO. I am in the market for some racks myself and after seeing how your turned out, I think that I am going to try and go all out! Only thing is I would like to have the racks extend over my cab and maybe build a removable carrying rack/tire mount over the bed area. So many option, you got my brain wheels turning! Thanks for the jump start, Aloha!:D

    Changes/Additions highlighted in yellow.
    • Shorten the rack by 4" for improved aero/CG, lower the chance of low hanging trees damaging the RTT, and so I can fit in more parking garages.
    • Adding legs to tie into the bed bolts on the floor/frame so the whole thing is stronger and more stable, especially on rough trails
    • Adding panels to one side to give me more tool mounting options and to make the contents of the bed more secure. (*not to stop a determined theif, but hopefully deter snatch and grab)
    • Removing the side mounted bike trays. (Having the bikes mounted here worked, but were vulnerable to low branches and made the truck even taller and less able to fit in parking structures or on the ferry)

Look forward to seeing the changes. Your rack was on my short list to pull design ideas from while building mine.

Damn Mike! Didn't even realize we had another person with fab skills. Looks nice, I like how the weight is distributed in the bed. I have the BAMF version on the way but this was one of he main reasons I chose them.
