The cleats twist 90º and come out from any position.

Just an update, I've moved the cleats about 6 times for different loads and never worried about them getting stolen. Yeah, I'm sure the haters have never worried either but this included long term parking at the airport and four hours in Colorado Springs, where the methheads will take your shoes for a buck.

Would they have been stolen without the cable? Probably not- but the point is I didn't worry about them being there when I got back.

Moreover in Colorado Springs I came out of a sale with a bunch of items and 4" of heavy wet snow on everything. The last thing I wanted to do is dig around in that trying to get bed cleats out of storage. I moved two and strapped everything in, leaving enough time to snap a pic before getting soaked.

Last week I moved all 6 cleats to the front rail to even it for loading furniture. The cable didn't get in the way and it worked as imagined.

Let the hate begin anew, it's not my fault you don't use your truck!

Seems as though you brought this back up, just so people will say its stupid, and then you can argue with them.

    Whatever floats your boat.

this forum is becoming home to a lot of haters. OP if it works for you then more power to you, function over form! I've seen plenty of stories of the cleats being stolen so i'm not sure why ppl are doubting that they are an item that get's stolen from Tacoma's...

Glad the cable is working out for you!

It was more thumbing my nose at people who already said it was stupid, but I forgot how many idiots would chime in with useless inflammatory comments- thanks for the reminder!

You should chain your wheels together too, I mean why would you do something easier and affective like wheel locks?

You move the cleats anyway, how much effort does it take to take them off? Takes me all of 30 seconds to take off and toss in the cubby or in the cab. Your getting flamed, cause the cable makes no sense.

But, like I said before, whatever floats your boat.

Also, you remind me of someone. Do you take a whole lot of extra napkins at fast food joints and whatnot?...

That cable is really the worst thing I've ever seen in my life....

Nobody is going to steal your cleats, and even if they did, it would be better than having that ghetto looking cable in your bed.
