Thinking about a blower on my Tacoma, or would a "performance chip" pep it up any at all. 2.7 4 cylinder, talk to me.

Recommendations, but keep it real.

I don't know if they make a SC for the 2.7 but if they do go for that, hands down.

Underdog Racing Developement has a SC for the 2.7l. IIRC it's around 3k, all inclusive.

I'm on the fence on the URD SC. I like it, but they did data with catylitics out. I actually am more interested in one that passes Oregon's DEQ, with the catas. I'm also interested in a more sedate 40-60 hp or tq gain.. moderate power. More is ok, but I'm also interested in knowing its low maintenance and something I dont need to tweak here n there.

I have a 2010 4.0. Before installing a supercharger, I need to know if I can drive it to the dealer to have it reflashed. It's 100 miles to the nearest dealership. They tell me not to even start it without reflashing. How do I do that?

you might be able to remove the ECU and send it in to be reflashed?
timing will be way off and it will probably seize up if you try and start it, guaranteed to blow up if you drive it.

What? how far does the flash adjust the timing? Retard the timing so the SC doesn't overfill the combustion chamber, yes.

My brother has URD SC on his 2.7L. With their stage 1 kit, you leave the cat on, but with the stage 2 kit, apparently it is recommended to cut out the cat. It is all inclusive, but I have to say that URD lacks in customer service. It took almost 3 months for him to receive his kit after it was paid for.

When it finally arrived, it was only a stage 1 when it was suppose to be a stage 2. After it was all said and done, it extra hp and trq will put a smile on your face. Their big HKS blow-off valve does make an annoying swoosh sound between shifts, but I guess you can get used it after a while.
