Previous owner used to haul heavy loads, so he put an AAL on it and TRD front suspension with a lift and custom rear suspension for added weight capacity. I recently installed a tow package (Curt with lifetime warranty) So i will definitely see what this thing can handle as far as weight goes.
Oh and by the way..... I do suffer from some unwanted rust... :( :( :( Luckily its just cosmetic. Still erks me. [IMG]

I just notice every little thing on my truck.. i'm kind of an obsessive compulsive tacoma owner.. I change my oil 500 miles early and never rev over 4200. I know toyotas can handle a beating and still last forever but i'd like to make it last even longer than forever ;)

LoL i do. Expept for when i am alone on a straight away. then i let loose. I don't redline cause theres no need. It seems that when you shift at 4200 (when accelerating hard) you go just as fast as if you stay in gear and redline.

Ahhhh. Thank you. I feel less weird now. My dads a mechanic and i am following in his footsteps... That just makes my compulsions to have a perfectly maintained car even more serious ;)

Yeah I hear its not an uncommon problem. Sucks though! Luckily, I am 5'1 and can hardly see it lol! Still knowing its there isn't fun but eh what can you do. Fix it? yeah eventually. When i can afford it.

Spray it with undercoating spray for peace of mind if you want.
    Wont hurt anything.

That's usually the first thing I do to any car I buy. Check frame etc and spray with coating.

Oh don't worry. I wish that people I know were as anal retentive about their vehicles like I am. My roommate is the exact opposite of me and she hates it when I harp on her if her maintenance is done. She said "that she would never buy a vehicle from me because I'd be on her about the maintenance". Ha! Buy a car from someone like me who likes a car that is maintained and taken care of. So it's a normal thing for a lot of us here at TW.

I have that friend too. She also is my room mate. She drives my old 87 camry and doesn't think maintainance is important. The car has leaky main seals and if it weren't for me adding oil all the time it'd be a gonner by now. I showed her a video on youtube of the exact same model car that had 400,000 miles on it....... she said "what was the point of this video" she's thinks because its old and has a few small problems (pcv valve is dirt and caused it to not pass smog) she took it to a smog shop and they told her the catyletic converter was bad. My dad is a 25 year veteran ASE certified specialist and master mechanic. So I took the paper to him showing the numbers. He told me cat is fine, clean the pcv valve and it will pass. the deal with my friend / room mate was if she registers the car and smogs it, its basically hers. So instead of having the valve fixed she just paid the fees (175 bucks) to the smog shop. I told her she got jipped. It would have passed just fine.. The car sat in a garage for 8 years and started right up zero issues after a battery was added. That cars got my respect. Oh and she installed a new muffler cause the last one went bad after about 600 miles. The car has had 1600 miles put on it since it was sitting (has about 206,000 now) without a stall or getting stuck in a parking lot somewhere.
