Got out in the sleet and snow before the salt trucks. Hit up some fancy neighborhoods where traffic is sparse and hills are steep. First opportunity to safely switch into 4x4. Tried 4Lo, and the high pitched transfer case sound while accelerating suprised me. I suspect it's normal, but just wanna double check. As I approached 20 mph it was almost howling. All well and good, right?

Oh yeah, truck is 10 days old.

Normal. You are hearing the noise of the planetary gear set in the transfer case spinning.

Shouldn't really be making any extra noise between 2wd and 4wd.
