So i got in a mud hole this weekend and kicked my truck into 4 wheel low and slapped the Rear differential lock in and nothing. My back right wheel was spinning and the left one was nothing. Its the first time I've had to use it in awhile and nothing.. Any idea?

I may have my actuator and carrier up for sale next week. It works perfectly, I just want an LSD instead.

You have to stop spinning the tire and wait for the light to go solid from blinking... If it keeps blinking turn your tires to one direction and creep slowly ahead. That should do it.

No beeping when you are L4! If it is beeping you didn't follow the instructions on the card in your visor (or the owner's manual). STOP, PUT Auto Tranny in N (Neutral), not P Park... then rotate from H4 to L4. Same thing to get back out of L4... N Neutral!

If a standard tranny, I believe it instructs you to depress the clutch?

Then use the locker after getting into Low Range... per my earlier instructions.

EVERYONE with a 4WD Taco... try using the 4WD BEFORE you actually need to, so you get familiar with how to engage it, and the locker (if an Off Road).

Yep. Like DavidK said, beeping and flashing lights mean you're doing something wrong...

    yep been there
I guess the more you use it the better it works. I want to do the anytime. All I can tell you is "I GET SO FUCKED PISSED OFF" when I need it I just get fucked. It works after a few minutes. I have tried to use/engage all the FDW options every month or so they work when I need them. I just keep getting it in the ass when I need them.
That's all my 1999 with the shifter never had any problems. The e lock worked all the time.

If you want to switch from an e locker, you'll have to replace the whole rear end, not just the carrier.

I was wondering about that when he posted that. Would it be possible for him to just add some sort of LSD (if they even make one for the TRD Offroad carrier, I doubt they do) and fab up some sort of plate to cover the actuator opening?
