I have started looking at a new one. I currently have an 09 that I will be selling. I want a white TRD (not sport) 4x4 DC. I have been through most if the dealer inventories in DFW. The only Tacoma's i have found that match are silver or black. There may be some white matches but some dealers do not get specific enough on the options to know for sure. My concern is if my fears are correct and i am searching for a rare bird than will i pay a premium?. From what i have read on the pricing posts it seems that i should target invoice or slightly below. The one i will have on my side is time. I will be in no hurry.

If you wait until the 14's come out, you will be paying a "premium" to get a 14 over a 13. This will als mean that dealers will want to push the inventory of 13's off the lot and give you possibly a better deal to take the 13 over 14. On the other hand, you will end up having to take what is left of the 13's and may end up forgoing some of the things that you would otherwise want.

personally, since they're not going to change body style next year, you might as well buy now and get what you want. Even if you wait 6 months and save $500...is it really worth waiting? You're going to end up in the same truck either way in the end...

I will start search in earnest in August. I thought about the 14s coming out. I may get lucky and find a deal on a 13. Time is on my side. I am in no hurry and could even wait until the end of year sales push.

I just bought a 13 white O/R 4x4 at Freeman Toyota. Worked with the internet/ fleet manager. Toyota is or was running a exchange program where you could swap your truck for a new one. No money down and same payment, so I traded in the 2011 for a 2013. The new nav/entune sold me I really like the system.

I have too much equity to swap. Dealer send a letter offering 11.5k. It just made my blood boil. I sent it back with a note stating they have my VIN and know my truck. Sales manager wrote back and apologized saying it is worth more like 18. Same dealer that has an 09 with 70k miles listed for almost $23k.

The Tacoma isn't a vehicle you need to "wait" for a deal on. They don't happen. Toyota occasionally does apr promotions but very rarely have I ever seen rebates or dealer cash on them. All the discounts you see on one are just the dealer dropping prices. I'm very aggressive with my pricing but not all dealers are. It depends on the specific dealership.

Not waiting on a deal. I am just not ready to buy right now. I will be paying mine off in a few months and will have to wait for title. Also do not plan to finance through Toyota. I can get 2% on my own.

local dealer offering $5k off MSRP. Sounds like a deal to me. Also, mention of $1500 cash back.

Turns out rebate is only on the TX edition. What is this about the 4 runner engine?

I doubt they will make any engine changes until the next generation.
