Well shit... Brant and I didn't take pics. haha. I would go take some pics of it in, but you can just crawl under your dad's and get a better idea than from my pics.

Going to try to fit an 8" in your 1st gen?

I see. What kind of pics would you like? maybe a measurement of how wide it is? I can maybe do that right now if it has stopped raining.

Do you have an 8" laying around somewhere that you can buy?

I want to see the mount points and if they are simialr at least. width would be handy too.

and no not yet. Thought i had one for free for a while..but didn't happen. Ill find one if i get serious about it. I think it'll work if i go LT up front.

These are bad pics... but I am too close to the diff when laying underneath it...
This one shows the front 2 bolts on those arms. About 15" wide (about bolt hole to bolt hole).
This one shows the single rear bolt that has a rubber mount there just to the side of the oil pan. About 17" long (bolt hole to bolt hole)

The whole diff with the ADD is about 21" wide.

    Sorry haha

Like where the CVs go into the diff..so if there were no cvs in it how wide is it? The diff ends and cv starts right at the boot basically.

Okay mine is 18" or so..

    So..1.5" on each side...

With a full LT kit..I wonder if just stock 2nd gen cvs would work...

My measurement of 21" isn't perfect but it should be pretty close. With all the kits out there, maybe you could get a 2" LT kit and run shafts from a 3.5" kit possibly or some combination like that anyway. Not sure what it would cost but have custom length shafts made might not be much more than buying premade ones and then just putting the cv joints on the custom length shaft.

Will you have to get 2nd gen knuckles as well? I can measure my spare cv axles haha.

The threaded end of the shaft for the spindle nut is 1.25" in diameter. The spindle seal is about 4.5" in diameter. I'll make a diagram of a pic in a bit if that didn't make sense.

Yea tell what your cvs are.

And I'll have to stick with a 1st gen LT kit I think. I don't think the UCAs and LCAs from a 2" LT kit for a 2nd gen will fit..not without so,e freaking serious overhauling. And I guess I'd have to see if I can swap on a 1st gen knuckle. That's what I would have to do with tundra cvs and manual hubs.

    Or..custom mounted spindles...

    Jesus this could be ridiculous..haha

Yeah I figured you would have to run a 1st gen LT kit, but get the CV shafts from a 2nd gen kit.

My factory cv is about 29" long.
