I currently have an 09 TRD sport DCLB and I hate myself every day for not getting the 4x4. So I have been shopping around for some off road additions. I found one today wanted to know what you guys think of it. Its an 05 with 66,727 miles on it but there asking $20,995. I think that's a little steep for a 7 year old truck. It looks nice I'm thinking about going to look at it tomorrow see how it is. Just wanted to see what you guys would be willing to pay for it or what kind of offer I should throw out there when I go look at it. Here is the link of the truck, any input would be helpful!

I bought my 06 DCSB 4x4 for right under 21k with 35k miles on it 3 years ago. I would probably pay 18k max. I have a SR5 non TRD. I hope this helps.

Yea, $20,995 for a 05 seems a little high to me. There is another one i am looking at its a 09 with 50,000 on it and they only want $2,000 more for that.

If you think it's worth $18k, start at 15.5 and go from there.

maybe, but buying a truck is a business deal using your money. If they laugh make them give you an offer. Hence the "go from there."

Check the frame. Seems to be 05s with frames rotting. Check behind the motor by the cat converter!!! I got my 2012 off road. Pretty loaded minus the stupid entune radio for around 30k otd, and my sticker was at 33,125. Should be able to find a decent access cab or sport double cab for around $30-31k and be brand new

The only thing extra this one had is a hard top cover and I could careless about it. I'm going tomorrow after school to take a look at it. What would be a good way to check to make sure the 4x4 is working when I take it out for a drive?

well, its not the best way, but if you got it in 4wd, start to make a tight turn, you should feel the front end hop, yes i know its bad for the driveline, but just do it a bit and straighten it back out..... i would bet that the 4wd is fine, just clicking it in 4hi, you should be able to tell its in, almost going to feel like you got a brake dragging by how it slows down soon as your foot is off the gas.... just make sure to get underneath it, and check the frame, look by the cat converts on both sides by the motor, and crawl by the rear diff, check the frame, and springs to see if they are cracked, look at the brake lines, see moisture, brake lines could be junk, just look t everything, look around the motor and see if you see sepage on anything, just dont be afraid to walk away, plenty of used tacos out there, check craigslist, and some local yota dealers
