Dash panel with accessory holes

Does anyone know if you can take the dash panel under the Ac/htr controls from a newer tacoma and put it in a earlier model that only has the 2 12v outlets in it?

I am about 100% sure you can. There is a thread here in the 2nd gen section where someone asked and another member posted up pictures of it installed. I think the 12v outlets were not the same though and wont go in the new panel without modification or something to that extent is what I remembered reading. Of course now when I try to search for it I cannot find it.

Did you get a used panel or order a new one from Toyota? What did it cost you?
