Tonneau Cover

I'm trying to decide between the following covers. Does anyone currently have either and if so, any comments would be appreciated.
Gator Tri-Fold
American Tri-Fold
Thanks
Eddie

Literally identical other than the printing on the box. They come out of the same factory, just available through different distribution channels.

Can all covers be used while traveling on the highway at 70+ MPH? some say they can be used when closed and others do not mention anything.

Yes, all covers should be able to be used at above highway speeds.

there's no reason why they wouldn't work..they are secure.no way for are to get in and pop them off with force...only thing that they recommended when i got my truck is what when i have stuff in my back and the tonneau cover if flipped open. to not drive fast on hwy speeds then because then there might be a problem..but i dont see why not if it's close.

I have the Extang Trifecta Tri-fold and have driven 85mph with it closed. No problem at all. Even took it through a drive thru carwash that has the air dry, and it was fine. Now opened, that might be different. I've driven up to 50mph opened and no problems. Of course if its open, I'm usually hauling something. So driving fast isn't a good idea.

On the lower end covers due to the nature of the rear clamp coming out of adjustment, it is possible to have the covers blow off the truck. There is nothing securing the center panel to the truck. This is why the Rugged Premium has a safety strap to tether the cover to the truck. Its a 1 in a thousand chance, in the right conditions for this to happen anyhow.

The Extang can do a little trick though. You can buy an extra set of the spring clamps and install them on the center panel. $20 is it, however on the Tacoma, you would need an extra rail block and clip set.

I checked out the Rugged Tonneau and like it. Trying to decide between the Extang and Rugged.

Very frustrating trying to decide. Just read a post about the Rugged and one guy returned it as he didn't like the fit, not to mention it is made in china.
Guess it's back to the Extang or something else.

My other concern is if the cover flaps in the wind. I'm sure there would be some flapping but I'm wondering which covers do a better job?

I know what you mean. I'm trying to decide between the Extang Trifecta and the Advantage Torza top. At this moment I'm leaning towards the torza top.

Decided to order the TonnoPro. Wanted to keep the cost under $300 and this one fit the bill. Good reviews and received a good price. May not be as good as the Extang but I think it will fit my needs.

I have the Extang Trifecta. I got it in Feb from Scott at TAO. It really works well. I dont see it ever popping off. The part next to the cab clamps tight and when you pull the spring hooks down near the gate, it clamps well there. I've driven 85 on the fwy and I look back and it's working great. I have no concerns. I am very happy.
