Front Lift - Spacer or 5100s

Just looking for some quick information regarding the lift.

Right now, I have a 3" spacer lift in the front which makes the back sit lower than the front, approx 1".

I'm looking to level it out, in the rear I have 3 leafs on each side, so if I were to buy a 1" AAL would that level it out?


Also, if I were to order a set of Blistein 1500s to replace my spacer lift, would I be better off with the 1500 lift instead of the spacer? Or should I just leave it how it is?

If you replace the spacer lift with the 5100s and set them to 2.5 you might get rid of your bro lean.

 

The only problem with getting rid of the spacer, is that it is 3" and the 5100 will only go to 2.5"

I was researching around and 285/70/16 tires need a 3" lift to clear them with spacers, am i correct?

Only reason i'm asking is because i'll be buying a new set of tires closer to graduation.

More people run 285s with 2.5" of lift than anything here I am willing to bet. I am also willing to be not many people have 3" of front lift, I ran 285s on 2" of front lift and running 255/85 on 2-1/4" of front lift right now.

 

That's what i'm hearing, I'm just worried about being able to clear 285/70 tires with only 2.5" lift.

 

Did you have to trim anything to make them fit?

 

You can clear 285s with 2.5" of lift on the front. It will require trimming but it will clear it... As for the rear, im guessing you have the standard 3 leaf pack that comes with our trucks. So you will need the 2" AAL so the truck wont sit high in the front.

Of course I had to trim, removed mud flaps, rubbed the cab mount, and front bumper until I got an aftermarket plate bumper.

 

If i were to lose the 3" front spacer, replace it with the 1500s set to 2.5" to level it out with the stock height in the back, would 265/70 look alright?
Alright meaning not looking small.

 

Or you could put the 1500s on the 1.75 setting and it will be about level with the rear and it will look good with 265s...

 

Hmm, I kind of like the look of the 3" lift though, that'd be my only problem

Appreciate it, I think I might stick with the spacer in the front, and an AAL in the rear to make it level with the front, then go with 285s with wheel spacers and a little bit of fender trimming. Wouldn't have to do much seeing as I don't offroad.

 

I think so. A 275/70 is also an option, although there is a lot less options. The size is just right for most people without trimming.

You have a DCSB so a 265/70 would look alright - some of the more aggressive tires look great IMHO. 285s will be additional headache and cost. You might get away with little trimming and cutting but it will still bring other issues such as gas mileage, higher cost of tires and fitment of spare tire.
