I just pulled of my BakFlip G2 folding tonneau cover off my DCSB and replaced with a Leer XQ shell. I was planning on selling the G2 however, after getting it off the truck I realized how rough of condition it was in. With some effort and elbow grease i think it could be brought back to life, I just don't have the time.

    The bad:
    1) No Mounting hardware
    2) Scratches/needs touch up paint
    3) Thumb wheel bolt that holds tonneau to rails is rusted to nut. Need to soak w/ PB blaster to get rails separated from tonneau.
    4) One slam latch doesn't work so well- I called Bakflip you can get a replacement.
    5) I would add a new piece of foam weather stripping to each rail. I did this when i first got I removed it when I pulled it off.

These are really expensive new so I hat to throw it away. But I don't want it anymore. Its yours if you want to come pick it up.

    Location - Cincinnati, OH.

I would've taken it, but I'm all the way in California. Darn. How have you liked your BakFlip? I've been thinking about getting one. What makes you want to move to a shell instead?

I decided to go with the shell mainly to get a roof rack mounted on top. I have a couple of long kayaks that I need to carry up top.

The Bakflip worked well while I had it on the truck. I liked the ability to flip it up and be able to haul taller items in the bed.
