I had them on an 07 4Runner and found that if I stepped on the step it put me too high and I then had to crouch to get through the door. So I stepped over them even though it was a tad tall for me.
    Sure looked nice though. ;)
Now I have an 06 Prerunner that is just as tall. Are any of them low enough to be useful as a step?

don’t have them. test drove a few that had them and hated them! found my truck and it did not have them. If it did i would have sold them. I’m 5’8 and have long legs and don’t need a step. I don’t even have to hop ot anything to get it. even with 3” lift i would not need them. buddy has 3” lift on his FJ and i just have to hop a very little bit and i’m in.

dirt bike stand work just as well. and i don’t have to step over/around a nerf bar or side step. would like some rock sliders tho even tho they stick out farther,i really don’t care if my pant leg gets dirty.

Wife and kids use them. I don't (I'm 6'-4"), except when I wash the truck it is handy to be able to reach the middle of the roof.

I have the factory "nerf" bars and use it everytime. My truck is only lifted a little but the more you slide your ass in and out of the truck the faster youre gonna break down the fabric and padding of your seat...thats why I use it.

I use mine when I'm strapping in the kiddo's car seat and need to reach over the seat, and as everyone else noted when I'm washing the roof or cleaning the middle of the windshield.

I don't use the step to get in myself and I've even considered taking the driver's side step off but my sense of symmetry won't let me do it!

I installed mine so I don't have to look at the rusty frame rails.
And to deposit dirt on my pants getting in or out.
