No i did not do them. I was going to do it but then realized i did not have the right tools and know how. Plus people that were supposed to help me disappeared on me. I had Yotamasters install my stuff.

So pretty much find a donor tranny (giggity) and replace the throwout bearings before swap?

Anything can be done if you put your mind to it. This just depends on how much money you are willing to spend to get it done.

I wonder what an out-the-door ballpark figure would be on a 6speed swap....

Wouldn't solve a single problem. Still won't be a 6MT in any color DCLB.

I have done many swaps from auto to manual but in the old days on old trucks and it was not a fun job .Most of the swaps were old chev , ford and dodge 4X4,s . Take the automatic out and grab a manual transmission , replace the input shaft on the transfer case to accomodate the manual transmission , driveshafts etc etc etc . The list of parts needed was a mile long back then . Easiest with donor truck by far .
These days it can still be done , however with the original Computer in the truck , its gonna be looking for advice from an automatic transmission thats no longer there . Your cheapest bet is a complete donor truck and hundreds of man hours .
Just aint worth it to tie the vehichle up that long .
Now if you have money to burn , why not add a racing torque converter and racing valve body to the truck you already have ?
Automatics can be seriously modified in comparison to manuals .

Well I've been fucking off online and I'm starting to get interested in a T56 swap.

Stumbled across this...
http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/x-r...on-swap-2.html

I hope its compatible with 4WD...
